Published rules

The rules are simple.

BrandWar is a public paid leaderboard for ecommerce brands. Confirmed lifetime spend determines the paid ranking.

  1. 01

    Confirmed spend sets the rank

A brand's position is determined by its cumulative eligible payments in USD after server-side confirmation. More confirmed spend ranks higher. A checkout redirect, pending payment, or failed payment never changes the board.

  2. 02

    Earlier totals win ties

If two brands have the same confirmed total, the brand that reached that total first stays ahead. The payment ledger is the source of truth, and the board can be rebuilt from it.

  3. 03

    Positions can change

A brand may add any valid amount at or above the published minimum. It does not have to pay enough for first place. Another brand can overtake it whenever a later confirmed total earns a higher rank.

  4. 04

    This is paid placement

Payment buys promotional placement under these rules. It does not guarantee visits, sales, revenue, conversions, profit, or return on ad spend. Public visit counts are directional outbound-click telemetry, not sales data.

  5. 05

    You must be authorized

By submitting a brand, you represent that you own it or are authorized to promote it. Founding listings are shown only with permission and are labeled; they do not display invented payments or bid history.

  6. 06

    Some listings are prohibited

Illegal products, malware, scams, impersonation, counterfeits, deceptive stores, obvious trademark abuse, and other unsafe or unlawful listings may be rejected, hidden, or removed.

  7. 07

    Corrections follow the ledger

A refund, reversal, or dispute may remove the corresponding amount from eligible spend when policy or law requires it. Rankings are then recalculated from the payment ledger. Provider-specific refund terms may also apply.

  8. 08

    Outbound links are sponsored

Brand links are paid promotional placements and are marked sponsored. BrandWar does not sell SEO value and does not claim its click counts are perfectly fraud-proof.
